Quadrant completes series of office lettings at City of London scheme Cannon Green
Cannon Green Sustainability
Cannon Green is a multi-let prime office building in the City of London where Quadrant has implemented a sustainability-led asset management strategy focused on improving building performance, occupier experience and long-term resilience. Working on behalf of KIWOOM Asset Management and Hana Financial Group, the objective has been to maintain a highly occupied building while establishing a clear pathway towards net zero carbon operation.
A key achievement has been the successful attainment of BREEAM In-Use Excellent certification, recognising the quality of the building’s environmental management, operational performance and sustainability credentials. Following expiry of the previous certification, the building underwent reassessment and subsequently secured the Excellent rating, reflecting the effectiveness of ongoing management initiatives and environmental improvements.
The sustainability strategy has been supported by a programme of energy monitoring and performance management. Quadrant has implemented enhanced energy consumption tracking and is developing a longer-term roadmap to support carbon reduction and future net zero ambitions through the use of the Deepki platform and other building performance initiatives.
The building also benefits from strong underlying energy performance. Office accommodation within Cannon Green has achieved EPC ratings of A or B, ensuring compliance with current and anticipated Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards and providing a solid foundation for further environmental improvements. The asset management team continues to review opportunities to enhance the sustainability performance of the common areas and other parts of the building.
Alongside operational sustainability measures, Quadrant has undertaken a programme of refurbishment works designed to improve both occupier experience and building performance. This includes upgrades to reception areas, refurbishment of office floors as leases expire, enhanced property management standards and a concierge-style occupier service model. These initiatives help extend the building’s life, maximise utilisation of existing space and support long-term environmental performance through the continued reinvestment and repositioning of the asset.
Looking ahead, the sustainability strategy focuses on further reducing energy consumption, identifying decarbonisation opportunities and progressing the building’s transition towards net zero operation. Through ongoing monitoring, refurbishment and active asset management, Cannon Green demonstrates how an existing City office building can continue to enhance its ESG credentials while maintaining strong occupational performance and investor appeal.
